CUPERTINO, California (EEUU) —18 de marzo de 2010— Apple® anuncia con tristeza el fallecimiento del miembro de Consejo de Administración de Apple Jerome B. (Jerry) York. York, presidente y consejero delegado de Harwinton Capital, se incorporó al Consejo de Administración de Apple en 1997. Con anterioridad fue director financiero de IBM y Chrysler, y antes vicepresidente de Tracinda. York gozó de un amplio reconocimiento por su contribución a Chrysler e IBM en sus respectivos procesos de recuperación.

"Jerry se incorporó al Consejo de Administración de Apple en 1997 cuando muchos dudaban del futuro de la compañía. Durante más de doce años ha sido sido un pilar del Consejo de Administración por su preparación financiera, experiencia empresarial y conocimientos,” dice Steve Jobs, consejero delegado de Apple. "Ha sido un privilegio conocer y trabajar con Jerry, y le voy a echar mucho de menos.”

Jerry York nació en Memphis, Tennessee, in 1938. Se graduó en la United States Military Academy, es Master por el Massachusetts Institute of Technology y MBA por la University of Michigan. Partiendo de su formación como ingeniero, York avanzó en su carrera en Chrysler hasta convertirse en director financiero.
