Subject: Shark attack fake data
Today's news programs on the death of a 46 y.o. man, gave a fake data saying that it is 62 years since someone died for a shark attack on the Gold Coast, as I was there in early 2003 and I clearly remember that there were three deadly shark attacks in one month. These or this shark killed in the canals of Surfers Paradise as the gates built not to allow sharks in, didn't avoid small sharks to grow inside the canals. While I was in Surfers Paradise I also encountered a shark, longer than 2 meters, that was parallel to the beach staying still into the roll of the waves, just a couple of meters away from me; I then swam out of the water as fast as I could and informed the lifeguard who, in a very relax way told me there was no danger… I then pointed out that three people just recently died, so he did call his H.Q. who initially told him not to worry but then call back telling him to call the people out of the water. All this made me think that there can be a too relaxed and superficial attitude towards these dangerous fish…
All my sorrow and condolences goes to the family of the victim.
