El SEGUNDO, Calif. " Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it is one of 20 companies selected to compete for task orders under the Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Deployment, Operations and Maintenance Services (D/SIDDOMS III) contract. The 10-year, $8 billion contract supports the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs)/TRICARE Management Activity (TMA). CSC estimates the value of its portion of the agreement to be approximately $100 million over 10 years.

Under D/SIDDOMS III, CSC will compete for task orders to provide information technology (IT) support services to the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Military Health System (MHS), its components and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The MHS provides comprehensive healthcare for all U.S. armed forces personnel, their families and other individuals eligible for care. Tasks issued under the contract include systems integration, design, development, operations and maintenance.

“CSC has a long history and wealth of experience providing business results to federal government clients,” said Marco deVito, a vice president in CSC’s Defense Group. “We are pleased to be selected for this contract and to continue our support of DoD healthcare activities.”

TMA is responsible for the operation of TRICARE as the worldwide, integrated system for accessible, high quality and cost effective delivery of health care services to DoD beneficiaries during peacetime and wartime.

CSC has provided systems development and transaction processing support to the DoD's Pharmacy Data Transaction Service (PDTS) since 1999 through D/SIDDOMS II, which D/SIDDOMS III replaces. PDTS provides a centralized data repository of pharmacy prescription information and real-time prescription transaction processing for TRICARE’s 8.7 million beneficiaries worldwide.
